We exist so that you can express.

Democratizing access to creators. The vision is clear. As we go forward, our vision is becoming detail-oriented. I can see the entire team of YQ evolving and adapting to that. Working on the inside I can tell you, we have plans and this is just the beginning.

The Matrix

I will start with the video team, as I sit right next to them. This team of four people has edited 1000 videos in a MONTH! Which has resulted in our YouTube channel becoming awesome!

1. YouTube

Their hard-work has resulted in 12.5 Million views and 260K Subscribers! If you haven’t subscribed, you must! Click here.

The most exciting thing that happened on the channel is the release of our first short film, Shagun!

Written by Harsh Snehanshu and directed by Sankalp Raj Tripathi this short film is going to move you and leave you with something to remember.

Now, the important part, YQ Productions selects stories exclusively from the YourQuote app. Even your short stories could be made into a short-movie.

You write, and leave the rest to us. Just post your stories with #YQFilms and we will select the ones that stand out and suit the following production criteria:
1. Should be set in one location: preferably a room/a cafe/an office.
2. Should have an unpredictable, non-melodramatic end.

When I heard about this, I was like, “You are telling me, all I need to do is write a story with a hashtag on the app and if it gets selected, THERE WILL BE A FILM?” I said that in one breath, not even kidding.

Honestly, this is what creating access is all about!

2. Democracy?

With the vision to reach 5 Million users by the end of 2018, the features on the app are DOPE! Video feature was released in February, and now the audio feature is released for all you camera shy people.

Audio Feature on YourQuote

My favorite feature is the ‘Prompter,’ because memorizing poems is difficult. Also, it makes me feel like a news reporter — considering I am a Journalism student.

Prompter for both video and audio feature. Just copy paste your work. Set the speed.
The prompter will display what you copy-pasted then you just have to read and perform!

We had our first App Open Mic in March! We are going to have more such events on app. This creates access and gives equal opportunity to someone who is sitting in, let’s say Bhiwandi to compete with someone in Chennai. Isn’t that awesome?

What’s more awesome is we have a family of 700K users!

On the app, in March alone 298,302 posts were generated in regional languages like Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Kannada, Gujarati, Malayali, and Urdu!

3. Events

Honestly, Shrey Saxena is a gem. I have seen him take more than 10 calls in a day, respond to SO MANY emails and messages and he is CHILL! I take three calls in a day, I am emotionally drained. With all the effort put into it by the his new partner in crime, Supriya Mishra, the team that handles the community request we had 48 Open Mics!

The most astonishing one was the one at Islamabad! Out of these we had 15 Spokentrepreneurs events — new cities that we tapped in were Kalyani, Manipal, Banasthali, Sangrur, and Moradabad. Other new city open mics that were open to everybody were Cuttack and Sagar.

We had two master classes one was about storytelling (Jhumritallaiya) by Mehak Mirza Prabhu and another was about spoken word poetry (Truth to be told) by Rochelle D’Silva.

So that’s about it! Wrapping up. If you haven’t downloaded the app then you should. Click here. Become a part of the platform that is taking democracy to new heights!

I can’t wait to write about April!
