Meet Mayank Tiwari: A Simple Punjabi Cricketer Munda With A Flair for Pen

Our writer Shubhi Khare caught up with Mayank Tiwari. We usually try to complicate simple things by using heavy words, here MAYANK TIWARI is a live example of how simple words and common observations of day to day life creates magic.

The Handsome — Mayank Tiwari

Q. To begin with, please introduce yourself to our readers.

A. Haha “introduce yourself”, pehle ratta lagakar jaate the interview dene, ab expert ho chuke itne saare interview de deke job me. But this time and for the first time its personal and not professional jo mera interview ho raha hai! :D

My name is Mayank Tiwari, born in Raebarelli U.P., brought up and studied in Punjab. So you can see that “khoon me U.P., zindagi jeene me Punjabi”. National level cricket player by “passion”, an engineer by “toss” and now a writer by “incident”. Ye jo inverted commas me hai na unka special meaning hai jo ki pata nahi kaise ho gaya aur aaj main jo bhi hu, wo sab in inverted commas ki wajah se hu.

We are three brothers and I am the middle one. Bahot jyada pita hu, trahimaam trahimam nikalta tha.. just kidding, but haan galtiya bhi utni hi karta tha.

I am a music lover, carom freak, dance jitna marzi karwa lo shaadi wala.. tumhari shaadi me bulana jaroor, Jaipur dekhega poora mera dance. 6 saal pahle Jaipur ko dikha chuke hai (to the interviewer) :D

Very dangerous prankster. Witty one liner (jo jhelte hai ya jo jhel chuke hai behter bta sakte hai with some *helping verbs* :P). Is humor ke chakkar me bahut se life time friends mile aur isi humor ke chakkar me bahut log napasand bhi karte hai Jo shikar hue ya hote hai.
Very emotional for parents, women and country. And a big dreamer. Khuli ankhon se bhi sapne dekhta hu.

Travel k liye always ready. Apne bhatije se bahut bahut pyar karta hu jaan hai vo meri. Aise bahut si baatein hai par 250 words se jada me number nhi milenge.

Q. That’s pretty interesting and lively, multi-talented insaan ho aap, writer by “incident” par thoda sa prakash dalenge?

Ans. MNC me Jindagi bas kaat rha hu na, sorry for PJ…
Like I said inverted commas har sidhi chalti life me naya mod de gye. Cricketer ban na chahta tha. Padhne me bhi acha tha. To papa ne bhagvan ji ke aage toss kara, proper toss head ya tail wala. Usme cricket aur Non medical (PCM) me non medical nikal aaya, cricket fir professional league se hatne laga..
Waise hi jab Delhi me Nirbhaya wala incident hua. Hila diya usne ander tak. Likhta pahle bhi tha but thoda funny cheezein, but us incident ke baad, ek raat adha din jail me bhi the protest me. Water cannon laathiya bhi khayi, but uske baad seriously likhne laga. You can see kuch bhi likhu ghum fir kar female foeticide , molestation, rape pe aa jata hu likhne. I love Women, the most beautiful creation of God. Log pta nhi kaise is hadd tak pahuch jate hai. This incident had a powerful impact on my life. Bas tab se thoda “seriously” likhna shuru kar diya tha.

Q. That justifies the seriously of your few quotes, Impressive. To lighten up your mood, aisa koi vakya yaha apke wittiness ne aapko fasaya ho?

Ans. naah naah faste nahi apan, itna talent toh hai… kaand hue hai bade bade zyada maje lene k chakkar me logo ke. Ek kissa yaad aaya, when i was in HCL ek colleague the sath me, tab lab me free wifi tha, unhone naya phone liya tha, smartphone. Ab free wifi mil gya to kaun chhodta hai hai (vo kisi dusri lab me bethte the, wifi dusri lab me tha). Toh vo roj lab ke bahar khade ho jate deewar pe pair satake, jaise shopper stop ke showroom ke bahar model nhi khada hota waise hi, to ek din maine unse 5 min ke ander 6 7 baar unka mobile liya…mann me to yahi thaa aaj gali sununga, kya karu MAC address yaad nhi ho rha tha, to vo MAC address apne dost ko ping kar diya jo wifi wali lab me tha, usne MAc address block kar diya. Ab jab bhi jate sala unka net na pakadta, bhai banda bahut pareshan. Mujhe bataya to maine kaha google pe dekha tha maine moto-e walo ko prob aa rhi hai airtel k wifi me, kismat ne sath diya sach me google me aisa review tha kisi ka. Unhonne sath hi sath customer care ko call lagaya jhaad diya, mail kiye, call kiya par koi solution nhi aur shayad phone exchange karaya (not confirmed ) par banda 1 saal pareshan rha pura aaj tak nhi pta uske sath aisa kyu hua, shayad ye interview vo bhi padh le to pta lag jaye.

aise bahut se karname hai. Aur jaisa kaha ki kaand hue vo sab college me hue the, par ab itna busy ho gye life me in sabke liye time nhi milta, par jab milta hai to kasar puri nikal lete hai.

Q. I am pretty sure, you will receive few calls after this interview saying, “Mayank wo bhi tune hi kiya tha kya?”

Joke apart, tell me the most fulfilling thing about writing for you? How seriously do you take your writings?

Ans. likhna is like jo pahle khyal mann me chalte the vo ab utar aate hai. Sabka alag alag maksad hota hai likhne ka, kuch ekdm sateek likhte hai, kuch jab tak acha na lage khud ko nahi likhte. Mera ye man na hai jo bhi khyal aaye jaisa bhi aaye (kisi ka dil na dukhe bas) bas vo kagaj pe utar do, bahut hi halka mahsoos hota hai uske baad. YQ isliye bahut hi pyara platform hai…

aap jab chahe likh sakte ho, par vo saadgi kahin khoti ja rhi hai YQ ki. Pahle jaisa nhi rha, commercialize hota ja rha hai. Its my view may be kuch agree kare na, Harsh and Ashish are doing there best as writing and from business perspective, its their dream. On other side what’s our duty is to write and get better by time, but log us se hatke alag hi raste pe ja rhe hai, likhna kuch logo ke second priority ho gya hai, dikhava jada ho gya hai YQ pe ab, which is not good as writer. Faltu k pachdon me padte hai log, khush raho acha likho bas aur kya chahiye…

And yes, I take me writing very seriously. Chahe achanak se shuru kiya likhna but its very beautful thing which is happening to me, and i want it to continue very seriously. Ek galti pahle kar chuka hu apne passion ko chhod ke, dobara nhi karna chahta. Aur sabse yahi kahunga agar vo padhte hai ye, TV pe bahut se serial aate hai vo dekh liya karo, writing me ya yahan pe us cheez ko mat lao…be happy and keep writing..

Q. That is something we all should make a point of! Any interesting story related to YQ?

Ans. haan nind kam ho gyi hai, bus conducter ko stop ke naam ki jagah yourquote bol deta hu, super market me debit card deta hu to kitna bill hua puchne ki jagah, kya challenge aaj ka puch leta hu, jab paise debit hote to message ki jagah yourquote app khulti hai. Meri pta nhi kitni photo kha1 gyi ye yourquote upgrade ke chakkar me, kitne apps uda diye iske chakkar me. Since i am working with vodafone to office pahuchte hi samne jab icon dikhta tha vodafone ka aisa lagta hai yourquote app ke ander hi ghusne wala hu mai. FB pe notification, news feed sab isi se bhari padi hai, par jo bhi hai acha hai mast ekdum dhinchakk.

Q. Haha, this is happening with me too, and I am pretty sure bahot log ye face kar rahe hai. Okay tell me, if there is one thing that you want to change about ur writing, what would it be?

Ans. Yes Ilove to change, abhi likhna shuru kiya hai, bahut kuch sikhna hai sabse, bahut galtiyan karni hai sudharna hai unko, tabhi nikhar aa sakta hai writing me. I love to write in urdu also, urdu means pure urdu. Kuch nhi aata urdu me abhi and I am always open for any type of feedback, improvement har jagah rahti hai no body is 100% perfect.

Q. I hope, you will get what you want. People are very helpful here. Whose writings do you look forward to for urdu writings?

Ans. I don’t have any favorites, but yes I love reading “Jaun Alia” and “Faiz Sahab”, they are brilliant and they right on my favorite topic “Ishq”. I am learning little bit from their writings.

Q. That’s a great piece of information. What writer do you detest?

Ans. Writers are very nice people, vo hum sabki baat sabke mann ki baat sabke samne rakhte hai, there is nothing to detest them. But yes, if there is any writer jo religion ke naam pe ya fir women ko galat dhang se dikhate hai, I will definitely detest them and samne mil jayein to will kick them. :P

Q. Woah, Aggressive haan! :P Anyway, moving on.. what hooks you to YQ?

Ans. Everyone, people are here to genuinely help you in writing. You can learn every time a new thing from some ones one liner or whole story. The best part is now it’s like a beautiful chapter in your life and you don’t want to loose beautiful things.

Q. How did you come to know about YQ?

Ans. From one of my good friend Vartika Tiwari, she used to write on YQ and also shared same on FB.. Also at that time I was lucky that i have some memory space in my mobile to install YQ. :P

Q. Haha, last line though! :D So tell me, how has your career and daily life affected your writings?

Ans. Since I am working in IT company, it’s very hectic. Stress is always there, to likh ke relief mil jata hai. In my office someone is fighting on phone, some are gossiping, in bus someone is expressing his/her love, bas wahi se likhne ko mil jata hai. I love to write metaphors, you can see in my writings, ghar ke bulb se lekar kachre ke dabbe tak i love to modify them in ‘ishq’.

In daily life too, if you go to big bazaar you will see, agar koi ladki keh rahi hai kisi se mirch le lete hai na, he will reply hai to tumhari zabaan me :P bas tumhe maja bhi mil gya aur topic bhi mill gya. Bas aisi chhoti chhoti cheezon me bahut kuch bhara hua hai, wahsroom ke tap se lekar mummy ki kadhai me kahani hi kahani bhari hai.

Also I want to add, after seeing Ramayana, Ihave one dream to write on ‘Bharat’, Shri Ram’s brother and I have to perform the same role but with little twist, he should be in kalyug. I am a big fan of him. He is a big inspiration, he had everything for 14 years. His father died. Vo bahut kuch bigad bhi sakte tha aur pura rajya apne pass rakh lete, but unhone na sirf family sambhali, par poora rajya bhi sambhala, and us rajgaddi ko chhua tak nhi.

Q. The way you observe things is commendable. So, do you read books? Which is your favorite book?

Ans. Cheque book :P As an IT employee. I don’t read books. Itni der mai ek cheez pe nhi tik paata from reading perspective, shayad buri adat hai. But i love to read real life, I love to read nature, its creation. If I will reply from real book perspective then its “Bhagvad Gita” and i love too read my father’s whole life again and again. I have so many good friends, kitab kabhi padi nhi par koi agar likh de ispe to definitely padhunga.

Q. Interesting! So, agar aapke upar novel likhi jaye, toh uska naam kya hoga?

Ans. Yeye! my fav question. :D (a giggle seeing the kid in him! :P) I love Parathas, chahe aloo ke ho, paneer ke, kisi bhi cheez ke, you can say they are my “kamjori”. To agar mere upar novel likhi jaati hai toh uska naam hoga “Mayank Ke Parathe”, kuch tikhe, kuch namkeen, kuch mithe, kuch masaledar.. jaisi meri life rahi hai ekdum waise hi.

Aur English me “The Smiling Assassin” jo ki mushkil hai english se apna kamjor rishta hai. Jaisa papa ki dant se hota hai. Jab vo Ghar pe hote hum bahar aur jab vo bahar hum ghar pe.raat ko jab milte so jate :p English mujhe aati nahi par bolni padti hai. Din ke kuch shabad hote hai…agar dopahar tak khatam ho jaye to baki aadha din office me katna mushkil ho jata hai.. :P

Q. Haha, aapka sense of humour ki daad deni padegi! What is your favorite personal discovery on YQ?

Ans. On YQ my favorite personal discovery is you all. Before November, mai kisi ko nhi janta tha aap sabme, but dheere dheere jana to pta laga you all are wonderful people, a very beautiful chapter of my life is going on, bahut kuch sikhta hu aap sabse, kabhi kabhi koi joke hasa jata hai kabhi kabhi koi serious story sochne pe majboor kar deta hai, aap sab logo ke dwara likhi gyi. So you can say that, my personal discovery is learning so many good things here, listening to so many beautiful people here, which directly or indirectly changes lata hai meri personal life me. Aise hi aap sab mujhe sikhate rahiye, I am ready to learn all good things from you all.

Q. And now time for my favorite question! Who are your favorite writers on YQ?

Ans. Like I said everyone here are very good writers. Some are experienced, some are very new. But sabme kuch na kuch special hai and that special talent attracts me. Every one is god’s special child, everyone is my favorite.
But yeah kisi ke interview me padha and notice bhi kiya hai, the teenagers are very good here, hume kabhi platform nhi mila tha aisa, but they got the platforms and they are utilizing it very passionately. amazing writers!
Kuch housewives bhi hai, unhe bhi apni dil ki baat rakhne ke liye ek platform mil gya hai. Aur vo sab itne behtareen hai…that’s why i use to say, Women are the most beautiful creatures of god and extraordinary.

Q. I totally agree with you on that! Talking about your write-ups, what do you prefer the most in a story?

Ans. Since Iam at a learning stage I prefer simple words to say powerful thought. I don’t go for tough words, attractive dikhe jis se.

From ideas perspective, it should be truth, Saadgi se bhare ho, aur agar apki writing se kisi ki life me change ho in positive way, isse acha kya chaiye. I have read on YQ fb group ki some girl has started talking to her parents after reading someone quote, bas aisa hi impact hona chaiye. No doubt hum likhte apne liye hai, par agar use bilkul sach aur ache se likhe to kisi ki life bhi change ho sakti hai. My personal example, “Masaan” and “Ankhon Dekhi” both movies has done beautiful changes, both are not so big brand movies, na koi bada superstar, but both are very true , simple and sweet movies. Isliye be true to yourself while writing, aap bahut aage tak jaoge.

Apne aas pass stories hi stories hai…aadmi ki cheenk se leke traffic ki bheek tak stories hi stories hai, bas use padhne wala chaiye.

Q. Coming to the last question of this interview, what is your favorite possession, share a picture of it please?

Ans. These are some images, I still have with me and this showcase my love for cricket.
