Meet Anup Agrawal from Bhubaneswar, a practicing Chartered Accountant who loves to write as a hobby. The only language he feels comfortable with is Hindi. He never really tried to learn others. Before the era of smartphone, ‘Pen Paper and Peace’ used to be his favourite slogan. He started writing during college days, for college magazines and to write love letters and did not receive a great audience except a few Kavya Gosthis. Then came the era of internet where he got connected to friends of similar interest on a social networking site called Orkut. There they planned and published a poetry collection “ एक कतरा आसमान” (100 poems, 10 each of 10 poets). The book was published from Lucknow and launched in London as one of the poetesses was from there. Till this time he was in Bargarh (a small district in Western Odisha). For professional growth he later shifted to Bhubaneswar in 2008. In 2016 he joined some real groups of poets and writers and participated in poetry slams, Kavya Gosthis and then came YourQuote which he seems to find himself totally addicted to at present. On personal front, he is a dashing married man of 43 years of age with two daughters. Even though he was an average student, he was the smartest member in his family. He always got full marks in Math and English and very poor marks in Hindi. He doesn’t have knowledge of technicalities of creative writing, instead prefers small and simple quotes. Quotes by Saket, Mayank, Abhilekh and Prasoon are amongst his favourites.
Being one of the elder writers on YQ with more experience in life than many of us, how is marriage life treating you?
जब इंसान को कोई काम नहीं रहता वो शादी कर लेता है। शादी दो दिलों को एक करती है और एक इंसान को आधा।
What is your favourite quote and by whom?
There are many. We choose quotes as per our convenience.
Who is your favourite singer and your favourite song by that singer?
Again there are many. S.P.Balsubramaniyam hain.
What are you currently doing in Bhubaneswar?
Practicing Chartered Accountant, having my own firm.
What would be your biggest achievement in life?
I want to see myself as a popular writer/poet.
Did “ek katra aasman” change your life in anyway?
Not much. We all are regretting for this as the quality of the book was not as good as we were expecting. Though the contents are good, still it is not worthy remembering.
What, according to you, is the best form of expression?
Written words, of course, if it communicates the exact feeling or thought.
Has YQ changed your life in anyway? If yes, please elaborate.
I have joined recently. The platform is good for budding writers and of course for readers.change as such is yet to happen. The only change what i feel is I am spending more time with my mobile and 80% with YQ.
What would be your advice on life to the rest of the wanderers out there?
Most of them are young. Studying or just started their career. I will say don’t study or work not only to earn but also to learn. Don’t bother for followers or likes. Express yourself honestly. Few days back I had commented on someone’s post who was complaining for lesser likes or followers, अच्छा लिखोगे तो सब को दिखोगे, जुड़े रहो दोस्तों, कुछ तो सीखोगे।
Who are your favourite writers on YourQuote?
Saket, Mayank, Nupur, Abhilekh
